NWC increases Jubail coverage with desalinated water to serve + 31,000 beneficiaries

The National Water Company (NWC), represented by its Eastern Cluster, has expanded its desalinated water supply to several districts in Jubail governorate to serve more than 31,000 of the company’s customers. This expansion in the desalinated water supply will strengthen the drinking water distribution system, manage its demand, and increase the supply of water services.

The company stated that properties in the districts of Al-Eraifi Industrial, Al-Rashid, Abed Al-Mes’hel, Al-Yarmouk and Al-Dhabab (west of the farms) will gradually benefit from this supply once the 2270-meter transmission pipeline with a diameter of 500 mm, which is part of the project to improve the water network in Jubail governorate, is completed.

NWC stated that the recently initiated pumping process will serve more than 31,000 beneficiaries in the targeted districts. It indicated that it distributes 5,000 cubic meters of desalinated water daily, and these quantities amount to 5,000 cubic meters and are expected to gradually meet the total needs of the inhabitants of these districts.

The company emphasized that this success is one of the most important quick wins in the program to improve drinking water quality in the Eastern Province. This is part of NWC’s continuous efforts to implement its strategic plans stemming from its initiatives to increase coverage, improve operational efficiency, and meet the growing demand for desalinated water, in line with the comprehensive development that Eastern Province in general and Jubail Governorate, in particular, are witnessing.

NWC continues its efforts to achieve quick wins through water quality improvement projects in the Eastern Province by pumping desalinated water to several regional districts, implementing its strategy, and improving the quality of services to realize the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals.
